The American Board of Cardiovascular Critical Care is a free-standing Boards for medical certification.

The purpose of the Board is to establish and improve standards of knowledge and proficiency in the professional practice of Cardiovascular Critical Care. This is accomplished by successful completion of computer-based examinations in the field of Clinical Cardiac physiology, covering ECG, Critical care echocardiography, Pharmacology of common ICU medications, Post cardiac surgery care, Post cardiac surgery complications . The Board grants subspecialty designation and issues a certificate to eligible candidates who have satisfactorily completed the examination.
